Terms & Conditions

Introduction

Washington's Drive School are passionate about providing the highest quality driver education.

Our terms and conditions ensure that our valued customers are fully informed on the basis of how we provide these services.

 

General Conduct

All Washington's Drive School Instructors are bound by a professional code of conduct.

Your instructor will be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual.

They will always behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Our vehicles will be fully insured for driver education, well maintained, clean and tidy.

Standard equipment in all Washington's Drive School vehicles include dual controls, additional mirrors and first aid kit.

At all times our Instructors will fully comply with any regulatory Codes of Practice and all applicable Road Law and Regulations.

Driving Licence and Eyesight

Clients must hold a current, valid driving licence (learner, provisional or full), at all times.

You must have your drivers licence with you at all times when undertaking any practical driving lessons with Washington's Drive School. Your licence must be produced as requested by Instructor.

Where clients are required to wear glasses as a condition of their licence (learner, provisional or full) these must

also be worn at all times. Failure to comply with either of these requirements will result in the forfeit of the lesson.

Payments and Refunds

Payments for all packages/drive tests and services must be made prior to package/lesson commencement.

Clients must make full payment of "pre pay" packages prior or on their first lesson.

Refunds (Programs, Lessons and Driving Assessments)

Once a package has commenced we do not refund on change of mind.

Where written notice is provided five (5) working days or more prior to the practical lesson or driving assessment commencement- a full refund is provided.

Where written notice is provided less than five (5) working days and greater than two (2) working days prior to the practical lesson commencement or driving assessment - a refund of 50% of the course fees are provided.

Where written notice is provided less than two (2) working days prior to the practical lesson commencement or driving assessment - no refund will be provided.

Drugs, Alcohol and Smoking

Washington's Drive School has a zero tolerance approach to illicit drugs, alcohol and smoking.

Safety is of utmost importance when teaching learners how to develop smarter, safer driving skills on our roads.

If you are, or if Washington's Drive School Instructor’s suspect you are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, the lesson will not commence.

In this event you will forfeit the lesson.

Washington's Drive School will terminate a practical driving lesson if a client smokes during the lesson.

Clients will be returned to their pick up point and forfeit the remainder of the lesson.

Learner Comfort and Safety

For safety, learners must wear enclosed footwear. Thongs are not permitted.

Clients must also take note of any medication they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely and advise Washington's Drive School accordingly before undertaking any practical lesson.

Punctuality

Clients are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointments.

Washington's Drive School will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes before a scheduled lesson is abandoned and forfeited.

A reciprocal waiting time is necessary if Washington's Drive School is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Any lesson time lost as a result of this will be made up by Washington's Drive School either at the end of the scheduled lesson time if possible or at a later date.

Any such shortfall will be recorded in the learner progress reports provided at the conclusion of the lesson.

Where a learner does not attend a scheduled lesson with less than 24 hours notice, this will be classed as a no-show appointment.

Where a learner has had one or more no-show’s, Washington's Drive School reserve the right to request payment in advance prior to services being continued.

Package Lessons

Our package deals have been developed with a set number of driving lessons included in each of these programs.

Washington's Drive School reserves the right to impose a learner forfeit a lesson due to their:

  • Non-Attendance

  • Lateness

  • Failing a random breath analysis and/or smoking

  • Failure to hold a valid licence

  • Disruptive and/or abusive behaviour

  • Failing to follow instructions for the safety of the learner and other road users

  • Dangerous driving

  • Poor attitude

In the instance where a client has been forfeited a total number of lessons in a package, either through attendance and/or forfeiture, Washington's Drive School reserves the right to charge the client for their lessons on a casual basis, if required by the learner.

All package deals and gift vouchers are valid for 6 months only from purchase date. Packages are non refundable or transferable.

Complaints

In the event of a complaint or grievance, in the first instance, all effort must be made to resolve the problem directly with your Washington's Drive School Instructor.

Washington's Drive School will respond within 24 hours of receiving your correspondence.

Our aim at all times is to work with good faith, empathy and understanding to find a suitable resolution to any complaint or grievance experienced by our valued clients.

All complaints or grievances are recorded in Washington's Drive School's Business Improvement Register. The register is reviewed to continuously improve the quality or our programs and services offered.

Washington's Drive School adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles that are derived from the Privacy Act 1998 (C’wth).
